
Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris, an American actor and martial artist, was born on March 10, 1940. He holds black belts in judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and Tang Soo Do. Norris won numerous martial arts competitions after serving in the US Air Force, and he later created his own style, Chun Kuk Do. Soon after, Norris taught martial arts to famous people in Hollywood. Later, Norris appeared in the spy movie The Wrecking Crew (1969).
Bruce Lee, a friend, and fellow martial artist asked him to portray one of the film’s main antagonists in the way of the Dragon (1972). Steve McQueen, a friend, and fellow student advised Norris to take it seriously as he continued to perform. In the successful action movie Breaker! Breaker! (1977), Norris played the lead role. He quickly rose to fame as an action movie star thanks to the success of his second lead role in Good Guys Wear Black (1978).
Norris went on to star in a string of successful independent action and martial arts films, including A Force of One (1979), The Octagon (1980), and An Eye for an Eye (1981). (1981). Norris became an international celebrity as a result of this.
He went on to direct films for Columbia, MGM, and Orion, including Silent Rage (1982), Forced Vengeance (1982), and Lone Wolf McQuade (1983). This prompted Cannon Films to sign Norris to a multi-film deal, beginning with Missing in Action (1984), which was a huge success and launched a trilogy. Norris began working almost exclusively on high-profile action films with Cannon, eventually becoming their leading star in the 1980s. Cannon appeared in films such as Invasion U.S.A. (1985), The Delta Force (1986), Firewalker (1986), and others. In addition to the Cannon films, Norris directed Code of Silence (1985), which was regarded as one of his best. From 1993 to 2001, he played the title character in the long-running CBS television series Walker, Texas Ranger. Norris continued to play the lead in action films until 2006, including Delta Force 2 (1990), The Hitman (1991), Sidekicks (1992), Forest Warrior (1996), The President’s Man (2000), and its sequel (2002). Norris’ most recent film appearance was in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables 2. (2012).
